Goodwill Reintegration Programs
Goodwill’s Re-Integration Program (GRIP) serves individuals with criminal backgrounds throughout Southeastern Louisiana. Participants are served pre- and post-release to assist them to overcome barriers and achieve self-sufficiency. Programs are funded through federal, state, foundational and Goodwill funds.
PROGRAMS
JRI – Community Incentive Grant was made available through savings from the historic Justice Reinvestment Initiative signed into law by Governor John Bel Edwards in 2017. The Community Incentive Grant Program provides coordinated Services designed to support accountability and successful community reintegration. Throughout the program, participants will be empowered to enhance their personal development through obtaining career readiness skills and development of success strategies built on creating a sustainable transition.
ELIGIBILITY
- Be at least 18 years old
- Currently within a state correctional facility or local jail serving terms of incarceration/conviction (felony level)
- Referred to Goodwill by the Department of Corrections (DOC) based on needs assessment
- Within 6 months of release from DOC custody
- OR released within the last 6 months from DOC custody OR currently under probation and parole supervision OR have a pending felony charge and have volunteered to participate in a pre-trial intervention/diversion programming.
- Returning to OR living in Lafourche, Terrebonne, Orleans, or East Baton Rouge Parish

Pathway Home* is an adult-focused grant that provides workforce services to eligible, incarcerated individuals in state correctional facilities or local jails with workforce services prior to release and after release by transitioning participants into re-entry programs in the communities to which they will return. This grant builds connections to local employers that will enable transitioning participants to secure employment.
ELIGIBILITY
- Be at least 18 years old
- Currently within a state correctional facility or local jail serving terms of incarceration/conviction (felony or misdemeanor level)
- Have an anticipated release date scheduled within the next 20 to 180 days
- Selective Service registration (exceptions may apply)
- Returning to one of the following parishes:

- West Baton Rouge
- East Feliciana
- West Feliciana
- Jefferson
- Orleans
- Lafourche
- Livingston
- Plaquemines
- St. Bernard

GRIP provides coordinated services designed to support men and women, 18 and older, touched by the justice system to overcome the challenges of reintegrating into their communities. Eligible participants receive reentry services and are connected to resources within the local community to address immediate needs.
ELIGIBILITY
- At Least 18 Years of Age
- Reside in New Orleans or Surrounding Parishes
- Proof of Being Justice Involvement
- At Least One Form of Legal Documentation (i.e., Government Photo ID, Social Security Card, etc.)
- Cannot Have Been Covicted of a Sex Offense (Excluding Prostitution)
